We are proud to announce that a number of the young musicians from our central ensembles have been accepted on to programmes being undertaken by the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2018. Congratulations are due to the following musicians who will be part of the NYO’s ‘Inspire’ programme at various locations around the country:
David Cattell – Clarinet
Aimee Rush – French Horn
Jonathan Guy – Violin
Alyson Knott – Double Bass
Tyriq Baker – Bassoon
We are also delighted that Callum Davis has been successful in auditioning to join the highly prestigious National Youth Orchestra, playing Tuba. Callum, who plays tuba in our Youth Brass Band and Youth Orchestra, and also tenor saxophone in our Jazz Orchestra, is pictured here along with his teacher, Kate Williams, who works for SIPS Education Music and Arts Service.
More information about all the players in the National Youth Orchestra can be found by clicking here: https://www.nyo.org.uk/meet-the-orchestra
Congratulations to all of these musicians on their success, and to the teachers who are supporting them in their musical learning!
