Sandwell Youth Brass Band and the Saint Catherine of Siena Academy Trust Choirs, were honoured to perform in the 130th Mayors Christmas Concert.  The Youth Brass Band opened the evening with a rousing rendition of Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” and played brilliantly throughout the evening, also leading the audience in festive favourites such as” Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and” the Twelve Days of Christmas.”.  The choirs, led by Mrs Derham, sang their items beautifully, with infectious enthusiasm and were a credit to their schools.

The evening was rounded off in a massed performance of “I wish it could be Christmas every day” which saw, all performers and the audience on their feet, singing their hearts out. The Mayor was very quick to praise the hard work of our youngsters after the concert and Mrs Reeves, Mrs Derham and Mr Beer were very proud of how they conducted themselves throughout the event. Well done to our SIPS Music and Arts Service musicians and all of the other musicians involved, it was a great showcase of talent in Sandwell!
